The FARC is a Colombian Marxist guerrilla organization that fought the Colombian state for more than 50 years and became deeply involved in kidnapping, extortion, and the cocaine trade.

After a 2016 peace deal, most of the group demobilized and turned into a political party, but some dissident factions continue armed and criminal activities.[1][3][4][5][6]
